Hello my friend,

What we most often need isn’t more answers, it’s better questions.

The questions we ask create the type of answers we receive.

The better the question…

Here are 10 stoic questions to ask yourself to create a better, more meaningful life.

  1. What is my purpose in life? What do I want to achieve with my time on Earth?

  2. What is within my control? What are the things that I can change or influence?

  3. What is not within my control? What are the things that I cannot change or influence?

  4. What are my values? What is important to me in life?

  5. How can I better control my emotions? How can I avoid letting my emotions control my behaviour?

  6. Am I being kind and compassionate to others? Am I treating others the way that I would like to be treated?

  7. How can I be more virtuous? How can I live a life that is characterised by virtue, such as courage, wisdom, justice, and temperance?

  8. Am I making a positive difference in the world? Am I using my time and talents to help others?

  9. Am I being true to myself? Am I living in a way that is consistent with my values?

  10. How can I live in the present moment? How can I focus on the here and now, and not dwell on the past or worry about the future?

Things I’m learning

Hidden potential.

“Imposter syndrome is not a clue that you’re unqualified. It’s a sign of hidden potential.

When you think others are overestimating you, it’s more likely that you’re underestimating yourself.

They have an outside view. They see capacity for growth that’s not yet visible to you.” - Adam Grant

What’s holding you back.

“Perfectionism is a self destructive and addictive belief system that fuels this primary thought: If I look perfect, and do everything perfectly, I can avoid or minimize the painful feelings of shame, judgment, and blame.” - Brené Brown

Being liked less makes you more rich.

“Savings can be created by spending less. You can spend less if you desire less. And you will desire less if you care less about what others think of you.” - Morgan Housel

Question

What are the common questions you subconsciously ask yourself? Insead of seeking for the same answers, how about creating some new questions?

That’s all for this week.

Thank you for reading.

P.S: The full documentary of my run from Liverpool to London for Brain Tumour Research goes live tomorrow - Friday 15th at 09:00 GMT/10:00 ESP time. You can watch it here.

If you can like or share to help raise even more awareness it would be greatly appreciated.
